His comfort zone

Gavin has his comfort zone. He loves to put his soft little hands on our chin. It's whenever we lay on the couch, laying in bed or even when we sit down watching a movie or something. I don''t know what it is about him resting his hand underneath it, but he has too for some odd reason. I guess it makes him feel comfortable, safe & happy. He likes the feeling of the scruffiness of my husband's beard. He even rubs his little feet against it. (Laughing) he looks cute doing it! When ever he lays in bed with me or trying to fall back to sleep, he puts his hand underneath my chin. I would think it would be a blanket or a stuff toy but it's our chin. But on the other hand, when he falls asleep in his own room he has to have one of the characters from either Toy Story or Sesame Street in his hand to fall sleep. Every week it's someone new. He's not a blanket or a stuff toy person. Thank god because I wouldn't go public with him sucking on a blanket or a small pillow which I see some toddlers or even older kids do. But, that's their comfort zone.

I love you Gavin! We will be your comfort zone as long as you need us!

From my Everyday Blessings book.....

Comfort

Th Lord will hear your crying, and he will comfort you. When he hears you, he will help you.

Isaiah 30:19

The Christian life is difficult-and emotional. It was for Jesus' disciples also. Jesus knew His death would be the most emotional moment of their lives. So just before Jesus gave His life on the cross, He sat down with them, explained that He would be leaving, and promised that He would send another "Comforter," the Holy Spirit. He has placed His Comforter inside of you. He hears every cry.

Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Romans 15:4

God has given you another gift filled with His love and comfort-the holy scriptures. As your read about Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Esther, Ruth, Job, David, Elijah, Mary, and Paul, you will see how God comforted them in their darkest hours. He will certainly do the same for you. Be encouraged as you read, and place your hope in His goodness. He will comfort you, and you can be sure of that.

SoccerTots

SoccerTots Philosophy

SoccerTots is a child physical development program that uses a variety of fun games to delight and engage kids in physical activity. Classes are professionally designed to develop motor, skills, promote physical fitness and create self confidence. We stress a non-competitive environment and promote fun above all else. Instructor to student ratio is kept small to maximize individual development.

We took Gavin for a demo class this past weekend. And we LOVED it! It really helps him interacts with other children and it teaches him great motor skills. We'll be signing him up for the next class at the end of the month. It's a 8 week program and they do acknowledge them with rewards. This is something we would love to do for him so he can be ready to play the REAL sport.

Grace

By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder that all of them-yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

I Corinthians 15:10

Grace is often defined as God's unmerited favor. It means that His love for us, His care, and His concern are all free gifts-we haven't earned them. What a wonderful thing to be loved an accepted-just because! In God's eyes, you are already pretty enough, smart enough, good enough to receive His best. He loves you for yourself. He wants you to become all you were created to be, but your relationship with Him doesn't hinge on it. What a wonderful word "grace" is!

[God] gives grace to the humble.

Proverbs 3:34

For many people, it's difficult to receive what they don't feel they have earned. Whether it's a sense of independence or pride, such an attitude will rob you o f the best this life has to offer. You must be able to receive God's love, even when you don't feel lovable, and God's goodness, even when you don't feel deserving. God has freely given you everything-His kingdom! Don't stand on the sidelines whispering, "I'm not worthy." Humble yourself and receive.

Needed to catch up!

Wow! It's been that long I haven't updated my blog. Well, for the past couple of months has been busy. In November, I've joined Zumba Dance/Fitness. I stopped in Mid-January because of schedule conflict with my husband's work and also I hurt my back. Doctor told me that I have to stay off my feet for awhile. At the same time, I was taking care of my nephew Isaiah. I had to stop watching due to the fact that I need to concentrate more on my own child. We are in the processing of potty training. Yep, its that time! Boy is it really frustrating!

It was going great until couple of days ago, we think he got food poisoning. He kept throwing up and having really bad diarrhea. So, right now he's in diapers. it's no telling when he's actually pooping. Poor baby, he's just constantly going.

But before all this, we've been hanging out with our cousins. Play dates, Chuck E Cheese, Rodeo and game night. It's fun! My baby loves it!
It actually snowed here in Texas, which my baby got to see for the very first time! Yay! I had to wake him up. I didn't want him to miss it!

We recently went to Houston TX. We took our son to the Children's Museum and the Downtown Aquarium. It was really nice to get away! We needed it. We've been cooped up in our house everyday. I try to to think and search on websites what else I can do with my child for daily activites.

Here are some of the events and places we've done. I will try and make and effort to stay on top with my blog! Til next time.

Gavin's first snow.
