His comfort zone

Gavin has his comfort zone. He loves to put his soft little hands on our chin. It's whenever we lay on the couch, laying in bed or even when we sit down watching a movie or something. I don''t know what it is about him resting his hand underneath it, but he has too for some odd reason. I guess it makes him feel comfortable, safe & happy. He likes the feeling of the scruffiness of my husband's beard. He even rubs his little feet against it. (Laughing) he looks cute doing it! When ever he lays in bed with me or trying to fall back to sleep, he puts his hand underneath my chin. I would think it would be a blanket or a stuff toy but it's our chin. But on the other hand, when he falls asleep in his own room he has to have one of the characters from either Toy Story or Sesame Street in his hand to fall sleep. Every week it's someone new. He's not a blanket or a stuff toy person. Thank god because I wouldn't go public with him sucking on a blanket or a small pillow which I see some toddlers or even older kids do. But, that's their comfort zone.

I love you Gavin! We will be your comfort zone as long as you need us!

From my Everyday Blessings book.....

Comfort

Th Lord will hear your crying, and he will comfort you. When he hears you, he will help you.

Isaiah 30:19

The Christian life is difficult-and emotional. It was for Jesus' disciples also. Jesus knew His death would be the most emotional moment of their lives. So just before Jesus gave His life on the cross, He sat down with them, explained that He would be leaving, and promised that He would send another "Comforter," the Holy Spirit. He has placed His Comforter inside of you. He hears every cry.

Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Romans 15:4

God has given you another gift filled with His love and comfort-the holy scriptures. As your read about Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Esther, Ruth, Job, David, Elijah, Mary, and Paul, you will see how God comforted them in their darkest hours. He will certainly do the same for you. Be encouraged as you read, and place your hope in His goodness. He will comfort you, and you can be sure of that.
